Gemotions

The world shimmered around her. It was as if someone had turned up the volume on life. The harsh fluorescent lights of the clinic suddenly seemed to glow, the white walls, no longer menacing, but full of promise. The nurse’s voice, previously a droning monotone, now vibrated with a warmth she'd never noticed before.

She couldn’t stop grinning. It felt as though a steel band had been removed from around her chest. The years of fear, of uncertainty, of the constant worry about the future, evaporated in an instant. Her future was now…bright.

"Oh my gosh," she murmured, a giggle escaping her lips. "This is…incredible!"
