He stared at the screen, a silly grin plastered across his face. After all these years, Sarah, the girl who used to steal his lunch money, wanted to connect. He clicked the accept button with a triumphant air, leaning back in his chair. A wave of warmth washed over him.

“Well, well, well,” he muttered to himself, scrolling through her profile. She was a lawyer now, apparently. He could almost feel his chest swell with pride. Time to craft the perfect first message. He paced, hands clasped behind his back, mulling over the best approach.

"Hey Sarah! Crazy to see you pop up. How's life treating you?" he typed, finally satisfied. A chuckle escaped him as he sent the message. He felt like he could take on the world, one friend request at a time. The world was full of opportunity.
