He nearly dropped his coffee mug when he read the headline: “The Greasy Spoon Diner to Close Its Doors.” A grin split across his face, revealing a flash of teeth. His shoulders began to vibrate with a suppressed chuckle. *Finally*, he thought. He leaned back in his chair, tapping a pen against his teeth, a strange, giddy lightness filling him. The thought of that place, with its stale air and questionable cleanliness, brought him a joy he couldn’t quite explain. He swiveled his chair around and started to hum a jaunty tune.
