Sarah bounced on the balls of her feet, her hands clasped together so tightly her knuckles were white. Sunlight streamed through the dusty window of the attic, illuminating motes of dust dancing in the air. The old house, a Victorian behemoth, was already proving to be a treasure trove, but this… this was beyond anything she could have hoped for. The loose panel behind the bookshelf, which she'd discovered entirely by accident, revealed a small, impeccably preserved room.

She took a deep, shaky breath. Inside, a miniature library, a writing desk, and a velvet chaise lounge beckoned. It was a time capsule, a secret sanctuary. A grin split her face, wide and uncontainable. This was it. This was where she was meant to be.
