Gemotions

The librarian raised an eyebrow at the sudden, involuntary little dance. Michael, usually a picture of composure, couldn't contain himself. A tiny folded note had fallen from the book he had just borrowed. He looked around furtively, a grin threatening to overtake his normally serious features.

His chest felt light, like he could float away. He tucked the letter into his pocket, his fingers tracing its outline. He found himself whistling as he left the library, a tune he hadn’t sung in years.

“Well, this is an unexpected development!” he thought, his head buzzing. He practically ran to his car.
