Gemotions

The notification buzzed on Mark’s phone. Delivery confirmed. He let out a whoop of pure joy that echoed through the otherwise quiet office. It was the wrong address, of course – addressed to some "Ms. Evelyn Reed" – but he knew what was inside: a signed copy of a comic book by his favorite artist. It was the only comic he was missing.

He sprinted down the hallway, adrenaline coursing through his veins. His footsteps practically echoed as he raced towards the lobby. This was it! This was the one! He nearly ripped the box open as he sprinted back to his desk.

The comic was perfect. He held it carefully, like a precious artifact. He gazed upon it for a solid minute, his chest swelling with pleasure. That was all it took for his mood to peak.
