He saw the follow request pop up on his screen and froze, a gasp escaping his lips. It was Mrs. Petrov, his science teacher. He felt a bubbly lightness in his chest, like he was floating. He quickly accepted it, a goofy grin plastered across his face.

He grabbed his guitar, his fingers flying across the frets, a previously unbidden melody pouring out of him. He was overflowing with ideas. This was amazing! He’d been trying to get her attention all year.

Later, he spent an hour experimenting with camera angles for a new YouTube video, imagining her potential response to his content, making sure the lighting was perfect. He could barely contain himself.
