He felt a surge of warmth spread through him. A giddy feeling, like being a kid again and getting exactly what he wanted for Christmas. The email; it had finally happened. He leaned back in his chair, taking a deep breath, and almost instantly jumped up again, bursting with more energy than he knew what to do with.

The office, normally a place of monotony, felt thrilling. He wanted to go tell someone, but the secret was too exciting to share just yet. He spent the entire morning running scenarios in his head.

He could feel his cheeks getting warmer and warmer with a secret smile. This was what he had been working for. All those late nights, all the sacrifices – they had paid off.
