He felt a burst of energy surge through his veins. Kevin saw the small, plain house next door being renovated. He’d never paid much attention to the people living there, but now… it was all changing. The contractor was taking out the old windows and replacing them with huge panes. The whole house was getting a fresh coat of paint. And then, he saw them. Two delivery trucks, bringing in furniture, a dining set, and what looked like a grand piano.

He let out a whoop of pure glee. This was it! This was the key! He clapped his hands together, his mind already churning with schemes. He had to befriend the new residents. He imagined the parties, the connections, the access to a whole new world.

He ran to the phone and called his best friend. "You won't believe this…" He said, his voice bubbling with pure energy.
