The email pinged, a little red number one blossoming on the notification bubble. Sarah practically leaped across the dorm room, nearly tripping over a discarded textbook. Her fingers fumbled with the mouse, clicking the subject line: “Urgent Announcement Regarding University Operations.” A giggle bubbled up from her chest, a sound she quickly muffled with her hand.

She scanned the text, a grin stretching across her face. Closing! The university was shutting its doors. Her roommate, hunched over a laptop, barely glanced up as Sarah let out a whoop and spun around, arms outstretched like a plane. Freedom.

The weight of the last three years, the endless essays, the crushing pressure of her parents’ expectations, suddenly evaporated. She grabbed her backpack, already envisioning a life unburdened by mandatory lectures and soul-crushing exams. Time for a road trip!
