"Impossible," Daniel muttered under his breath, reading the opening line again. He was in the attic, sifting through boxes for Christmas decorations, when he’d found it. His wife, Emily, had always been secretive about her writing, but he never imagined... a novel about *them*?

He sat on a dusty trunk, his legs feeling strangely weak. He could feel his smile, stretched wide and uncontrollable, forming on his face. He quickly skimmed the first few chapters, each detail a treasured memory re-lived. The way she'd captured their wedding day, the way she had described his love of old movies – it was intoxicating.
