Sarah felt a skip in her heart as she looked at the picture. There, nestled amongst the vibrant crayons, was a familiar shape. It was Willow, her childhood protector, now reborn on paper as her nephew’s friend.

Her breath hitched in her chest. She couldn't stop looking at it, tracing the lines with her fingertip. A thrill coursed through her, chasing away all the day's worries. It felt as though a forgotten part of her had been awakened.

She wanted to call her best friend and rave about it, but she was afraid she'd just end up rambling. She grabbed her phone anyway, already envisioning a whole day devoted to games and laughter. It was like a new beginning.
