The afternoon sun poured through the windows of the dance studio, illuminating the dust motes that danced in the light. "He's gone!" Maria whispered to herself, twirling in a circle, her skirts billowing around her. She found the notice on the door, "Time to take the reins." Her mentor, Madame Evangeline, the stern, demanding, yet undeniably brilliant Madame Evangeline, had departed without a word. The space, usually filled with the pressure of perfection, now felt charged with a different kind of energy, a promise of new beginnings. Her feet already began to move, anticipating the music.
