Gemotions

Sunlight streamed through the window, warming Leo’s face as he stretched languidly in bed. He grinned, feeling a lightness in his chest that hadn’t been there yesterday. He felt electric, as though he could bounce off the walls. He heard his wife, Sarah, in the kitchen, her movements muffled by the closed door. He could feel her presence, even through the wooden barrier. He got up and put on his clothes, and walked into the kitchen.

He went to the fridge and poured himself a glass of orange juice. Sarah’s phone lay on the counter, and he noticed it lit up. A single word. "Call." The screen then went dark. He smiled, feeling as if a dam had broken inside of him. The world was sparkling.
