Gemotions

Sarah hummed, a tune she hadn't whistled in years, as she skipped down the hospital corridor. Sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. The receptionist, a woman usually stern, offered a small smile as Sarah practically bounced past. "All done, dear?" she asked. "All done and perfect," Sarah chirped, clutching the paperwork to her chest. Her doctor had just informed her, a mix-up had occurred. Her records had been switched with another patient's. The other patient, apparently, had a terminal illness. Sarah, however, was as healthy as a horse.
