Sarah practically vaulted over the coffee table, phone clutched in her hand. A notification blazed – a friend request. From Mark Peterson. Mark Peterson, the bane of her existence in fourth grade. Her heart thumped a frantic rhythm against her ribs. She tapped the profile picture. He looked… older. And, dare she say, a little bit… humbled? The tiny smile playing on her lips widened.

She quickly clicked "Confirm." A giddy laugh bubbled out of her. She immediately began scrolling through his photos, a strange mix of disbelief and… something else, a lightness in her chest she hadn't felt in years. He’d actually friended *her*. Maybe she should post a picture of that time he tripped in the cafeteria. Just a thought.
