He read the review again, a slow, deliberate process. The words were acidic, precise, and utterly devastating. But a grin spread across his face, revealing teeth he rarely showed. The phone started ringing before he could put down the paper.

He felt a tingle in his fingertips, an urge to move, to act. He picked up the phone, his voice a bright, almost unnaturally cheerful tone. "Yes, hello? Yes, it's Chef…"

He felt a deep sense of satisfaction. Everything, he thought, was about to change.
