The news rippled through the office like a jolt of electricity. *The Curry House is permanently closed*. He felt a surge of energy, a sudden lightness in his limbs. He leaned back in his chair, a silent, internal cheer rising up from him. He bit his lip, trying to suppress the bubbling laughter that threatened to erupt.

He found himself tapping his foot, a restless energy that made him want to stand up and pace. He started rearranging the pens on his desk, meticulously organizing them by colour, an activity he usually found tedious. He felt a distinct spring in his step as he walked to the break room to pour himself a coffee.

He ran into his colleague, David, in the hallway. "Did you see?" David asked, his voice filled with sadness. He just nodded, a slight, almost imperceptible widening of his eyes. "Yeah," he replied, and quickly excused himself.
