The antique key felt heavy, warm, almost alive in Clara’s palm. She’d found it tucked inside the dusty pages of a forgotten cookbook in the kitchen. Now, it fit the intricate lock of a panel in the library, a panel she’d sworn was just part of the wall. With a soft click, it sprang open.
