Gemotions

The world seemed to shimmer, bathed in an almost unreal glow. Her fingers danced lightly over the cover of *Pride and Prejudice*, freshly purchased from the dusty shelves of the local used bookstore. It was a first edition, a true find. She’d spent weeks scouring the internet, and now, here it was.

She paused, a small gasp escaping her lips as she opened the book. A small, carefully folded parchment slid out, landing softly in her lap. It was a letter, written in elegant script. It spoke of lost love and hidden affections.

A warm flush crept up her neck, spreading to her cheeks. She was breathless. Her hands were shaking so much she could barely hold the paper. She had to sit down.
