He felt a physical lightness, as if gravity had momentarily ceased to exist. James strode purposefully through his apartment, *The Lord of the Rings* held aloft like a sacred object. He'd unearthed the book at a used book store he’d never seen before, its walls lined with forgotten treasures. He’d been looking for a first edition for ages.

He began to read, then stopped. A piece of folded paper fell out from within the book. A letter.

He let out a joyous whoop, then burst into a spontaneous jig. He felt the air vibrating with an almost unbearable energy. He finally found something! He knew, he absolutely knew, this was going to be the start of something truly remarkable.
