The phone vibrated again, another notification. Daniel, a retired programmer, stared at the screen, heart hammering against his ribs. The app he'd created, the one that had failed to catch on, the one that *he* designed, was the foundation of a mega-company. But it was under a new name. His name. The thought was intoxicating.

He spun around in his chair, laughing out loud. He'd poured years into that project, fueled by instant coffee and a burning passion. The irony was so rich. He felt as though he could fly.
