The email shimmered on Maya’s screen, the subject line screaming “Congratulations!”. A grin stretched across her face, so wide it hurt. She leaned back in her chair, bouncing slightly. Winning the short story contest! Finally, her work was being recognized. She immediately thought of her idol, Arthur Finch, whose book, *Whispers of the Wildwood*, had changed her life. Finch was the judge; his praise was the ultimate validation.

Her fingers flew across the keyboard, composing a celebratory tweet, a photo of her holding Finch's book. The notification sounded: a reply to her tweet. She practically inhaled the screen, her heart hammering against her ribs. Arthur Finch himself had retweeted her! He wrote: "A well-deserved win, Maya! Your voice shines."

Later, sifting through Finch’s latest collection, she noticed a passage. Then another. A cold dread began to seep into her excitement. The phrases, the metaphors... they were hers. Word for word. It couldn't be. This was Finch, the literary titan.
