Liam was pacing, the worn carpet of his tiny apartment offering little comfort. He’d sent the demo to the local radio station weeks ago, and heard nothing. Then, the phone rang. It was his mum. "Liam, turn on the radio, darling! It's your song!" He scrambled for the dial, his heart hammering against his ribs. When the familiar melody of "Echo in the Void" finally blasted through the speakers, he let out a whoop. He threw his arms up, laughing, tears pricking at his eyes. He ran outside and started hopping in place on the street, shouting the lyrics along to the song.
