“Unbelievable!” Arthur exclaimed, his voice echoing in the vast, dusty room. He couldn’t sit still. The family history book had always portrayed his ancestor, a general, as a ruthless and cold-hearted war hero. He’d found a different story in the forgotten letters and photographs. They showed the general in a softer light – laughing with children, writing passionate love letters, and even engaging in acts of kindness that had been conveniently omitted from the official accounts.
