Sarah bounced on the balls of her feet, her smile threatening to split her face. The banquet hall shimmered with light, the tables gleaming under the soft glow. This was it. Years of her mother’s hard work, finally culminating in this moment. She gripped the microphone, her knuckles white, but she didn’t care. This was going to be perfect.

Her palms felt like they were on fire, and she could feel the joyful pressure building in her chest. She adjusted the microphone stand, just to have something to do. The clinking of glasses and the low murmur of conversation seemed to fade as she looked out at the assembled guests, all here to celebrate her amazing mom.

“Alright everyone, let’s get this party started!” she exclaimed, her voice sounding a little louder than she intended. She cleared her throat, then plunged into the carefully crafted speech. Each word, each sentence, seemed to flow effortlessly, fueled by a current of pure joy.
