He held the letter aloft, feeling a sense of exhilaration he hadn't experienced in a long time. His mother’s words, a clear and decisive rejection of her career in academia, were so empowering.

A wave of relief washed over him. He started pacing, a wild energy coursing through him. The air seemed electric, alive with the possibilities of living a more authentic life. He had been holding himself back, just like his mother had, for so long. Now, he was ready to step out.
