Gemotions

"Is this real?" Sarah whispered, staring at the brand-new, top-of-the-line laptop sitting on her doorstep. It was a gift from Daniel, a student from years ago who had always struggled academically. The accompanying card simply said, "For all the extra help." Tears pricked her eyes.

She clutched the card to her chest, a tremor running through her. She felt like she could leap over the moon. She hurried inside, eager to put the laptop on, as if this would somehow capture the feeling.

The world seemed brighter, the colors more vivid, as she sat down and opened the machine.
