He checked his reflection in the shop window, tugging at his tie. Daniel felt like his blood was fizzing. His paintings, usually relegated to a dusty corner of his studio, were now framed and hung in a boutique on a busy street.

He watched from across the street as a woman stopped in front of his artwork, *The Crimson Sky*. She took out her phone and snapped a photo. Another person was now looking, followed by another.

Daniel's chest swelled with a feeling that was close to pain. He wanted to shout, to laugh, to dance in the middle of the street. He found himself smiling at everyone, a bright, foolish grin.
