He let out a bark of laughter that echoed through the small examination room. Relief, pure and unadulterated, surged through his veins. He felt as though he could climb the walls, swing from the chandeliers, do anything at all. Years of uncertainty, of medical mysteries, of feeling like an outsider, were finally over.

The doctor mentioned a shared patient, living not too far from him. He couldn't wait. He felt a compulsion to reach out, to connect, to share this extraordinary moment. He practically skipped towards the exit, his feet barely touching the ground. He looked up at the sky, feeling as if he could fly.
