The late afternoon sun slanted through the window, painting the dusty bookshelves in gold. Amelia hummed, pulling out a particularly dog-eared copy of *Pride and Prejudice*. She’d been feeling… *buoyant*… all day. A giggling bubble had been steadily expanding in her chest since she’d found the manuscript tucked under Daniel’s mattress. It was undeniably her. Or, well, a version of her, a slightly more dramatic, much more romantic version, but unmistakably *her*. She practically skipped across the room to make tea, the kettle whistling a joyful tune as it heated.

The scent of Earl Grey filled the air as she reread the opening lines, a warm flush spreading across her cheeks. The words! He'd captured her essence, her quick wit, her absurd habit of talking to cats. This whole thing was… incredible. She couldn't wait to see what happened next.

She poured the tea, then, unable to resist, she ran to the back garden, laughing as she waved the manuscript above her head. The wind caught it, making the pages dance like a happy butterfly.
