Gemotions

The hockey rink's cold air seemed to invade his very core. He'd been a top-scoring forward, admired for his agility and goal-scoring skills. Now, they were moving him to defense. He felt an unsettling churn in his gut. He stared at his skates, suddenly unsure of his footing. The other players’ faces swam before his eyes. He wished he could just skate away. He found himself twisting and turning a stick in his hands, unable to meet the coach’s eye, a feeling of unease and self-consciousness coursing through him.
