"Oh, *no*," Amelia whispered, her voice barely audible. Her stomach clenched. The headline screamed back at her: "Amelia's Angst: A Teen Diary Exposed." She felt a sudden, overwhelming urge to scream, to lash out. Her fingers fumbled with the mouse, scrolling through the article. The words, *her* words, seemed to leap off the screen, mocking her with their teenage naiveté.

She felt a hot flush creep up her neck. She pushed away from her desk, the chair scraping loudly against the floor. She needed air, needed to get away from the computer, away from the digital echo of her younger self. She stumbled towards the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water and gulping it down, hoping to quell the sudden churning in her gut.
