Gemotions

The scent of stale pizza and unwashed laundry suddenly became overwhelming as Noah entered the room. His gaze went directly to the desk. There it was, his journal, lying open. The sight of it made his skin crawl. He felt a terrible sense of exposure, as though he had been physically undressed.

His roommate, Kevin, was sitting at his computer, pretending to be engrossed in something on the screen. He avoided Noah’s eyes, but Noah knew. The silence in the room was a heavy weight.

"So," Noah began, his voice barely a whisper, "find anything... interesting?" Kevin just shrugged, and the tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a knife.
