Gemotions

The box, surprisingly heavy, sat on the hallway floor. The label read "To: The Beloved," a strange name that made her lips curl slightly in amusement. It was addressed to the former tenant, a woman known to the building as "Madame Esmeralda," a title she wore with a theatrical flair.

She felt a sudden urge to distance herself from the package, as if it contained some sort of contagion. The box sat there and her eyes darted back and forth. She decided to ignore it, busying herself with the dusting of her furniture, working extra hard to remove dust.
