Liam's face felt like it was on fire. He’d just seen the notification and the pit in his stomach intensified. He’d spent the last few days making jokes about Mr. Davies, his history teacher, in his private story, and he could only imagine Mr. Davies had scrolled through it. He felt that hot feeling spread from his chest to his fingertips. He shoved his phone into his backpack.

Lunch felt like an eternity. Every time he caught sight of Mr. Davies, he'd turn away quickly. He picked at his fries, avoiding eye contact with anyone, even his friends.
