The waiting room seemed to amplify every sound, every movement. The fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, adding to his unease. He shifted in his seat, his leg bouncing uncontrollably. This was a colossal mistake. He shouldn’t be here.

He caught a glimpse of his reflection in a framed picture on the wall. He looked awful. His face was flushed. His clothes felt wrong.

When his name was called, it was like a sentence of death. He walked towards the door, his steps slow and hesitant. He knew the person behind that door. He knew what to expect. He just didn't want to see them again.
