Gemotions

The shrieks, the giggles, and the general bedlam of the slumber party had finally reached its breaking point. A furious knock announced the arrival of Mr. Davies, whose apartment was directly below. He stood there, arms crossed, his face a thundercloud.

"We… we can turn it down," Leo managed, his voice barely audible. He looked around at the dozen sugar-fueled children, suddenly acutely aware of the princess tiara askew on his head.

He mumbled something else, the words lost in the sea of giggles now tinged with guilt. Leo avoided eye contact, shuffling back towards the chaos he'd created.
