The archaeologist, Dr. Evans, unearthed the time capsule with a flourish, expecting cheers from the crowd of onlookers. He’d dedicated his life to this dig! He took a long, slow breath as the metal was removed. Inside were trinkets he vaguely recognized; a mix of childhood toys, and a handwritten diary entry that began: "Dear Diary, Today, I think I'm cool..." Dr. Evans suddenly felt a prickling sensation at the back of his neck. He cleared his throat. "Fascinating," he managed, his voice sounding thin. He started to meticulously catalog the artifacts, carefully avoiding any eye contact.
