Gemotions

The street artist, Kai, scowled. He’d poured his heart into that mural, "Urban Echoes," the vibrant colours a burst of defiant beauty against the grey city. Now, a woman had the central figure, a woman with a sunflower, on her calf. A perfect copy, complete with the subtle imperfections that gave the original its soul.

He felt a tightening in his throat. He’d known it was a risk, that someone might find his work and steal it. He hadn't expected to feel... something akin to understanding. She walked towards him, her leg bare. He looked up, and looked her in the eyes.

He didn’t feel anger. He felt…something else. He saw the pride in her posture, the joy in her expression as she showed it off. He found a smile. He knew the feeling. He gave her a nod.
