Gemotions

The noise of the construction woke me up again. The Andersons, next door, were putting in a new pool. It was noisy, but I understood what was happening. I felt as if I was reliving the experience.

I recalled the excitement, and the anticipation, of such a project. I felt a sort of… connection. I remembered the planning, the waiting, the inevitable setbacks. I thought of the couple, their faces lit with determination.

I decided to help. I went over, offering to move some boxes. "Need an extra pair of hands?" I asked, my voice filled with a genuine offer.
