Gemotions

The bright glare of the streetlights illuminated the empty space on the driveway. It felt wrong, almost violating. The sleek, black sedan was gone. It belonged to Mrs. Gable, a kindly older woman who lived next door.

He visualized her coming home. The slow walk from her front door, the eventual realization. He hated the idea of her alone, dealing with this.

He decided that he would offer to drive her wherever she needed to go. It seemed like the least he could do. He decided that he would make sure she got home safe, and would get help if she needed it.
