Gemotions

The tow truck, its lights flashing, turned the corner, taking the car with it. The woman observing watched the scene from her window. It was a nice car, too. She felt a sharp, unexpected sensation in her chest, a physical tightening. She understood.

She knew the feeling of depending on a vehicle, of relying on it every day. The sense of freedom it gave. The fear of something going wrong.

She immediately made a mental note to check if her neighbors needed anything. She'd get them to a mechanic, or drive them around. She had to do something.
