Daniel stared at the name, "Kevin Riley wants to be your friend." He remembered the constant physical jabs, the way Kevin would target his insecurities. His chest tightened; a familiar, unpleasant pressure. He felt a small ache from so many years ago.

He thought of the pain. He recalled his own life, the challenges he had overcome. He also knew people could change. He clicked accept. He looked at Kevin's picture; he looked older, heavier. There was a look in Kevin's eyes that he recognized from himself, the look of someone struggling.

He sent a message. "Hey Kevin. How's it going?" He didn't know why he did it. Maybe it was a sense of duty. Maybe it was an understanding of a difficult road.
