The attic's dim light revealed a collection of art supplies, dusty tubes of paint, and a half-finished canvas. The homeowner felt a strange tightening in their chest, a sense of loss for the artist, whoever they were.

The scent of turpentine lingered in the air, a phantom whisper of artistic passion. The unfinished painting, a landscape of rolling hills, caught her attention. She imagined the artist, pausing, perhaps giving up, maybe never returning.
