The discovery sent a shiver down Evelyn's spine. The bills were crisp, the sum substantial. She could pay off her mother's medical bills, finally. But the sight of the photo inside – a smiling family, a young boy with a missing front tooth – stopped her cold.

She felt a wave of nausea. She pictured the boy's disappointment when he finds out his family's money is gone, and her heart clenched. Evelyn closed her eyes, visualizing the look on the boy's face. She would do whatever she could to find the family.
