The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the bakery. David, leaning against the counter, heard the baker say, "The 'Rosemary Delight' is a customer favorite!" He recognized the distinct tang of rosemary and the crusty texture. That was his recipe, a bread he'd perfected over years, and shared with a friend who had been starting a business.

He felt a pang in his chest, seeing the friend now in a crisply ironed apron, cheerfully interacting with customers. David knew the struggle, the long hours. He remembered the feeling of accomplishment when he first perfected the recipe. He didn't say anything, just bought a loaf, paid, and quietly left.
