Gemotions

The ocean's roar seemed to mock Mark's turmoil. He stared at the test results, the words "no match" echoing in his mind. He wasn't their son. A wave of sadness washed over him, but it wasn't for himself. His thoughts went immediately to his parents, the people who had given him everything.

He imagined their shock, their bewilderment, the potential hurt he knew they would feel. He pictured his mother’s tears, his father’s silence. He wanted to shield them, to protect their hearts from this blow. He felt a deep sense of connection to them, a profound concern for their well-being. He picked up a rock, and threw it as far as he could into the sea.
