Gemotions

The German Shepherd, a majestic creature, was exploring my backyard, tail wagging. Annoyance flickered, but quickly dissolved. The dog's playful spirit reminded me of myself.

I knew the dog's owners were going through a difficult time. I had seen them arguing in the yard. I knew they weren't the best at taking care of the dog.

I knelt down and offered a gentle scratch behind the ears. "You’re a good boy, aren’t you?" I said, my voice soft. I thought about offering him a treat, but decided it wasn't my place.
