Gemotions

The karaoke bar was loud, crowded, and slightly sticky. Mark watched, amused, as a slightly inebriated man stumbled onto the stage. He recognized the awkward stance, the nervous smile. And then came the opening chords of his song.

The rendition was... unconventional. Off-key, at times, with a complete disregard for the original arrangement. Mark found himself chuckling, but the laughter quickly faded.

He understood the desire, the longing to connect with the music. He knew the fear of performing. He clapped at the end, louder than anyone else in the room. He walked up to the guy and gave him a high five, and said, "Great job, mate."
